Four additional activities

Every interpreter begins his career by concentrating on his instrument, on his technical and musical dimensions.

The time passing, the control of the acquired technique, the biggest visited musical latitudes, the instrument performance is not anymore considered as the only source of personal satisfaction. An inextricable need to share this intimate experience is embodied in the functions of artistic direction and teacher in master class.

And so, Augustin Dumay took the artistic direction of the festival of Menton (South of France) for four years and steers the class of violin of the prestigious musical Chapel Queen Elisabeth.

Conducting orchestras is the expression of his will to penetrate more profoundly into the work. This desire shows itself very early in Augustin Dumay's heart, in fact, from the age of 17 years.

These four paths to music are complementary in Augustin Dumay's career. Please have a look at the pages under this section of the website for lots of interesting details (seek in the menu on the left side).
